Where I Eat in NYC 💋

Where I Eat in NYC 💋

I absolutely adore New York! It’s one of the first cities I visited when I came to America, and it has been a constant source of inspiration. The vibrant energy, diverse culture, and endless culinary delights inspired me to create our show-stopping pink shade, New York at 1PM. This shade captures the essence of a perfect NYC afternoon—bold, beautiful, and ready for anything.

People often ask me about my favorite places to eat in the city, especially when it comes to lunch. So, with no further ado, here is my list of lunch spots in New York City—each one not just worthy of a kiss, but deserving of a full embrace!

Balthazar

If there’s one place in NYC that captures my heart time and again, it’s Balthazar. As the crown jewel of Keith McNally’s downtown empire, Balthazar isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. The charm and style of a Parisian bistro comes alive here, with its plush booths, antiqued mirrors, and an atmosphere that makes every meal feel like an event. Whether you’re savoring their Coq Au Vin, indulging in Moules Frites, or grabbing a perfect croissant from their adjacent bakery, Balthazar is the epitome of classic elegance and culinary delight. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and every bite is pure bliss.

Raoul’s

Nestled in the heart of Soho, Raoul’s is more than just a restaurant—it’s a hidden gem that feels like a love letter to Paris. Run by the Raoul brothers and their family, this spot has been a favorite long before Soho became the polished neighborhood it is today. The bistro fare is simply divine, and the authentically eccentric vibe makes it a place you’ll want to return to again and again. Raoul’s is where I go to feel transported, as if I’ve found a secluded nook in Paris where the food is exquisite and the atmosphere is pure magic.

Fellini Coffee (West Village Location)

Fellini Coffee in the West Village is my little slice of Italy in NYC. This cozy triangular café offers outdoor seating that instantly transports me back to those lazy afternoons in Capr, with an Aperol Spritz in hand. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, the taste of delicate pastries, and the warm sunshine on your face—everything about Fellini Coffee is a celebration of life’s simple pleasures. It’s the perfect spot for a laid-back lunch, where every sip and every bite brings a smile to your face.

Polo Bar

When I’m in the mood for something truly special, I head to the Polo Bar, Ralph Lauren’s ode to classic American cuisine. The atmosphere is as refined as you’d expect, with equine-inspired decor that adds a touch of elegance to every meal. Whether you’re savoring a beef burger sourced from the Double RL ranch in Colorado or indulging in their signature ice cream churned with Ralph’s custom blend coffee, the Polo Bar never disappoints. It’s a place where sophistication meets comfort, making it perfect for a luxurious lunch.

Tin Building

Tin Building is where Geoffrey and I often find ourselves when we crave a taste of the world in one spot. This market hall is a food lover’s paradise, offering 12 dining concepts that feature global cuisine, sustainable ingredients, and breathtaking views of the Brooklyn Bridge. Whether we’re enjoying our favorite Chinese dishes or exploring the diverse culinary offerings, every visit to Tin Building feels like a new adventure. It’s our NYC regular, and each meal takes us back to the vibrant streets of Hong Kong.

Atla

Atla is a love letter to modern Mexican cuisine, and it’s one of my absolute favorite spots in the city. Located on Lafayette Street, this all-day casual eatery offers a contemporary take on the flavors of Mexico City. The atmosphere is sleek and modern, the food is exceptional, and every visit reminds me of the vibrant culture and rich traditions of my homeland. Atla is a place where tradition meets innovation, and every dish is a masterpiece that deserves to be savored.

Bar Contra

Bar Contra on the Lower East Side is my go-to spot for a more adventurous lunch. The Saltair, a tequila-based cocktail that tastes like the very last sip of a margarita, is just the beginning. The vibrant atmosphere, creative menu, and that perfect blend of salty and sweet make every visit to Bar Contra a thrilling experience. It’s where I go to explore new flavors and enjoy a meal that’s as bold and daring as the city itself.

Bar Pitti

Bar Pitti is my little slice of Rome in the heart of NYC. When my husband and I first started visiting the city after living in Italy, this was our go-to spot for authentic Italian cuisine. The bustling, no-frills atmosphere, reliable specials, and simple yet exquisite dishes like the Rigatoni Pitti make it a place I cherish. There’s something magical about sitting on the sidewalk patio, enjoying a plate of pasta, and watching the world go by. It’s a place where memories are made, and every meal feels like a celebration.

These spots are more than just places to eat—they’re where memories are created, flavors are savored, and life is celebrated. So next time you’re in NYC, let New York at 1PM guide you to these incredible lunch spots. Trust me, each one is as vibrant and unforgettable as the city itself.
