In Conversation: Meredith Wing of MooMooi 💋

Hello lovers!

This month’s conversation is a very special introduction to artist Meredith Wing and her famous brand MooMooi.

Initial training in fashion design and architecture has come together in three-dimensional drawings that celebrate unusual materials. Her #SomeFlowerGirls illustrations combining fresh flowers, produce and other found-objects, rapidly gained a loyal following on Instagram in 2014 and since then have become a global phenomenon and garnered the attention of major clients such as Soho House, Tory Burch, Vogue Magazine and Estée Lauder to name but a few. It’s no surprise why especially in these times, Meredith’s work reminds us to always take notice of the beauty that surrounds us.

Madame Gabriela is pleased to bring this undeniably chic artist of the moment to our clean beauty fans around the world with the MooMooi ™ x MG Lipstick Bag, our 2020 artist collaboration. As part of our partnership, Meredith created three Madame Gabriela floral muses, each inspired by our collection and the colors of each of our shades - Camille (PARIS), Jasmine (NEW YORK) and Olivia (SYDNEY).

Discover more about her passions and design in this month's conversation.

Enjoy! X

What prompt you to become a Collage Artist? I love color, volume and form as well as 2d representation. Collage allows me to combine 3d objects with 2d drawings in a way that holds a whimsical tension. I like the ephemerality of petals and other objects that I know will not last beyond a photograph... I am lucky to be able to do what I love for a living and share my passion with an engaged audience.

What does beauty means to you? Beauty to me means confidence in one's own ideas and personality. Being original. It means a harmony of conviction and humility, a willingness to learn and a harmony of opposites.

The woman I admire most is: My mother - her love is tireless!

If I could wake up tomorrow in any hotel, it would be: The Andaz Tokyo, such a dreamy place.

Live/Work/Play: Sydney, Paris or New York? Well I have lived, worked and played in all these cities! Based on research I'd say live in NYC, work in Sydney and play in Paris!

Favorite hour of the day? 8am - the day stretched out before me and possibilities limitless!

The beauty essential you have to pry out of my hands is: A glass of water!

My first kiss was:  Awkward!

The lips I remember most are: My baby's :)
